First Day At Gunung Ledang

Malaysia Day had made our weekends an extra day. Hence, my teachers organised a trip to Gunung Ledang, which is the highest mountain in Johor.   On the morning of 14 September 2012, we gathered at the school hall. So glad that the weather was fine that day as we board onto our bus and set off straight to Tangkak. There were about thirty students in this trip and everyone had also changed into an apple-green shirt given by our teacher before we left the school.     Most of us slept on the bus as it was so boring. Could you imagine? Nothing to do for 3 hours! But still, I got a precious snapshot of my BM teacher when he was smoking during rest time. Don't you think that I was naughty? XD     After a 3 hours journey, we finally arrived at the Gunung Ledang Resort. We were told to keep our bags in the chalet where we were going to sleep that night. One big room, twelve double-decker beds with the total of twenty-four persons in a room.   ...

Steamboat From Great China

If you really enjoy having steamboat for dinner, I would like to suggest a restaurant for you. This restaurant is named as Restaurant Zi Gu Village, which is just a short distance from New York Hotel, Johor Bahru.     This steamboat restaurant is opened by a young lady who came from China. She brought all of her chefs, waiters, recipes and ingredients from China with the purpose of giving her customers the most authentic food which has the same tastes as the ones in China.     In this restaurant, there are four different kinds of soups, namely Yun Nan Spicy Soup, Chinese Herbal Soup, Chicken Essence Soup and Tom Yam Soup to choose from. We can choose either 1, 2, 3 or 4 types of soups among them.     Bowls of fresh ingredients and sauces are placed on a few big shelves with all kinds of plates and bowls that you might need to use.       Other than that, the boss has a small corner in her restaurant for BBQ and grilling ...

Legoland Malaysia

Another landmark is being built in Nusajaya, which is just a stone's throw away from Johor Bahru, where my house is. No doubt, it's the famous Legoland Theme Park.   The park is going to be open to the public in 6 days' time, which is on the 15th of September 2012. It is the first Legoland Theme Park in Asia, so I guess it will attract tourists from all around Asia. And I'm pretty sure that it will give the number of tourists to Malaysia this year a big rise.   Being the 6th Legoland Park to built in the world, it features 7 different areas with 40 plus interactive rides, shows and attractions. And they even have the largest Lego shop in the entire Asia. With the largest Lego toy sets, visitors can find a variety of Legoland souvenirs in any souvenir shops in the park.   After having fun in the park, all of us will surely get hungry. So why don't we treat ourselves nicely with a mouth-watering meal at any of their restaurants. At the restaurants, we can hav...

My School Is Haunted !?! : Part 2

There was once a true story that happened in my school, Maktab Sultan Abu Bakar a few years ago. It was a scorching afternoon as the sun shined so brightly.   There was a Malay boy who skipped his prayers and went to our school Form 6 block to play there alone. He met one of his "friends", who was there with the same purpose. But there's one thing he didn't know: The "friend" he met was seen in the prayer's room by his teachers and classmates, so who was this "friend" that he met?   Our principal didn't actually want to let us know about it. He just said that something strange happened on that very day but only Muslimah could know what thing happened. But I heard it from my Malay friends anyway.   There existed another story which happened on my brother when he was still in this school a few years ago. It was a breezy morning when he saw the principal  walking towards the canteen after changing his clothes for P.J.K.  Because my ...

The Human Being—A Complex Organism

Human beings are complex and special organisms as there is a complex organisation of cells in the human body. The organisation in the human body is summarised as follows: Cells—> Tissues—> Organs—> Systems—> Organism.   The same type of cells which carry out a specific function are organised into a tissue. For examples, a group of muscle cells form a muscle tissue while a group of nerve cells form a nerve tissue. They are organised to work together to perform specific functions as the result of cells in the human body do not work individually.     An organ is a group of tissue that cooperates to carry out a specific life process. For examples, a group of muscle tissues, epithelial tissues and connective tissues form blood vessels. Several organs are organised into a system. Each system consist of several organs which are organised to carry out life processes such as respiration, reproduction and digestion.     Various systems in th...

Let's Be Fit

It's not a hard mission for us to look for people who are plump nowadays. People enjoy eating fattening food every single day and keep avoiding exercise. Hence, more and more people from all around the world become beefy or obese and they just refuse to face to facts—their lifestyle is making them fat.   Children and teenagers who are still in school enjoy playing online games day in day out and they do not do any exercise. These guys usually play the games until the wee hours, so even they go to school the next day, they feel sleeping and unable to concentrate on their studies.   Sports and exercise are a priority to all of us to have good health. We should be active in sports so that we can stay alert at all time, especially in class or at work. We can go jogging, swimming, playing football, or even participate in all kinds of outdoor activities such as camping, jungle trekking and so on.   Next, we must eat healthily every day. A balanced diet i...
