Starstruckkkk (Edited)

Hey! Hi, it's me again! Junior journalist, Thum Chiean Tien, reporting for the second time. Second time? Yepp. My Starstruck attempt last year, regretfully, didn't go too well. Whatever, what's past is in the past, right?   The word 'failure' is never on my list. Despite not being shortlisted, I don't see it as a fiasco if I have not given up, which I won't. One year older now, let's hope my try this year would pay off my hard work in composing.   Inspired by my life, I am indeed stunned to hear the kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats under coats around me; see the uprising skyscrapers of JB city; watch the world grow. It is filled with so much humanity and impacts, which lead the way up to my writepad as a positive influence.   In fact, being a teenager is a confusion. My life goes on in a drumbeat rhythm. But as I charged my worries into the power to face the obstacles ahead, I splash a bridge of rainbow to end the rain. I am a caterpillar cocooni...

Starstruckkkk

Hey! Hi, it's me, Thum Chiean Tien, again, reporting for the second time. Second time? Well, my Starstruck attempt last year didn't go any well. Whatever, what's past is in the past, right?   The word 'failure' is never on my list. Despite not being shortlisted, I don't see it as a fiasco if I have not given up, which I won't.   Inspired by my life, I turn it entirely into a favourite influence in my writing career. I hear the kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats under coats around me; see the uprising skyscrapers of JB city; watch the world grow in the same pace as I improve myself.   My life is filled with so much humanity and impacts, which lead the way up to my writepad. I aim to strive myself high, to scream my heart out with every word I pen. I want my every single piece of work to embody something different. An evolution, an improvement, a motivation born to make myself strike the challenges higher.   In fact, being a teenager is a confusion. My...

In The Bloodstreaked Dress

I reached out, for the seven hundred and sixteenth time. The little girl strode forward towards the park. The lingering confusion clouded my face again, but this time it came along with a deep sense of depression. No one seemed to be able to see me, or hear me. They did not even respond to my touch. No Way, it couldn't be! A sense of panic overwhelmed my mind. I waved my hands aloft, seeking another man's attention as he jogged past me. But as I had feared -- he did not see me.   Nothing actually made sense. It was six o'clock sharp in the evening, I remembered, I was at the square gazing at the town clock. Out of the blue, a blinding light blasted onto me. Its temperature was blazing, which hurt me for a second. Blood spilled everywhere from where I stood, staining my white satin dress a dark scarlet design from the bottom up, just like an April rose, but much darker. Snapped out of my daze, I looked around. A blue car was a few metres away, its driver frantically st...

Words

'They were like sharp knives; and we were like the frozen meat in the refrigerator; they tried to cut us but we made them blunt.' Those were his words, with streams of teardrops flowing down the swarthy tanned route......   I couldn't deny that I did feel something, it tasted sour in me somehow, like something I had never felt before. Touched, desperate. It would be dramatic if I shed a tear at the moment, but I would really go for it if I still could, only if I had not lost the ability to do so.   I was a failure, he was right that I couldn't do my job well, if only there were someone to my aid, to tell me what was right and what was wrong. But that was the past. I stroke a change since Shu talked to me. Pride should never be bigger than humanity. Indeed.   I did think about quitting, but still I couldn't find the courage in doing so. He was actually the guideline that sabotaged my attempts, all the times he cheered me up and encouraged me. Even if it...

E- The Editors F-  Ahmad Faiz Bin Najib Omar E: Who was the one who inspired you to sing? F: Well, it was my Dad, because he could sing. I started singing at the age of 3. My Dad and my Mum thought that I was gifted in this talent, so they registered me in this competition for my first kind of exposure. E: Did you feel nervous or shy on stage because of your young age? F: Yes! Number one is that I am young and number two, there were a lot of     people over there in the audience. We were at at City Square, Johor Bahru and people were watching me, I was so afraid. But I thought to myself that it’s the time for me to show my own talents. I ju...

A Blank Space In My Heart

I remember listening to Blank Space when it was first released. It was the feelings that came along that I miss much. When it was early in the morning, I followed the track down the long, deserted hallway, one footstep trailed by another one, not knowing that my first move had embarked an eight-month-long journey.   I had been to it...a place where I forgot about myself. I didn't know what happened. A grey area, they recognise it this way, where facts are ambiguous and hopes too deep down in the snow. Days flashed by in a lightning pace, people with rosy cheeks, tan skin and injured knuckles came along with me.    But question marks filled up fatigue minds, I questioned myself the one thing I used to be so sure about. And...I didn't get an answer that I wanted. I didn't know if I knew myself anymore, living a life I predicted wrongly, doing the things I thought would be easier.   I heard screams and thunderstorms, saw my losing grips and fading soul. O...

Welcome To JB, It's Been Waiting For You!

Across the busy causeway link from Singapore, it is yet another rising city, which has been nurturing generations of bewildered youngsters with not only its skyscrapers but also the buzzing daily lifestyle full of spices. There is no doubt that this place does not owe any success to its neighbouring Singapore for its economical success, but it lives up to is own name-- JOHOR BAHRU.   As the second largest city in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur, JB attracts more than approximately 20 million  foreign tourists in just one year's time. It is undeniably a shopping paradise, which had been exclusively topping many worldwide charts of best-choice shopping venues. Well, just name it-- Johor Premium Outlets, KSL Shopping Mall, City Square and the recently-opened Komtar JBCC. None of this will leave any unsatisfactory in the tourists' hearts.   Another wise act from the government to boast the economical success of JB is to develope it into a land with eccentric international...

Starstruck!

HI!  Have I grabbed your  attention? That means a lot to  me, you know.   Well, I ’m just another  tedious boy, wearing specs  and slippers, holding a book  in the crowd. But I guess  what  genuinely  makes me a little  confident is that I have a  heart carved out of the  determination and courage to  learn.   I love writing, which is  now a part of my life.  Inspired by Taylor Swift, I  scream to the world on how I  live my  days  through words. It is not  just as a preferred pastime  and an adroit I c...

Don't Strike The ACE

According to Wikipedia, gambling is the wagering of valuables with an uncertain outcome. Many enjoy the satisfaction it can bring through the winning of pennies. However, it is in fact a blind favor of indulgence, in which a gambler strikes on the climax of his nights without foreseeing the adverse effects that might be cast from the actions.   Many hold the false idea that gambling is the most effective method of striking riches instantly. People stride into casinos, with eyes gleaming with hopes in acclaiming double or even triple the value they wager. But gambling is unpredictable. It is a pure dependence on luck without any guarantee of winning, which causes us to lose money easily. How? A missing piece of luck can lure gamblers into incorrigible addiction given that some unsatisfied people believe their system will always pay off on the next round.   As the gamblers get addicted to gambling, they would rather spend their days at the gambling table than to wor...

Never Go Out Of STYLE

From reminiscing the memories in the woods to holding a paper-plane necklace, to hoping you would actually stay and continue passing by the windows. These are not the cure for a heartbreak but instead a yell to have it back. It's not by dividing emotions into tiny fragments that can aid you to forget about the bad memories ; it's not wandering around, looking back into the past when both of us (them) could have smiled like the sun that can bring you out of the woods. With Style, that endless urge to travel back in time upon reminiscing about the happy moments screams so loud, but in fact it will never help much in relieving the pain as it only makes you wanna run. 2014-- A Review

Well. 2014 was a true blast!!! From winning my first attempt at Escape Room eCurve, it was a great experience, will fulfill my second attempt soon. TO wearing Kimono at school, being laughed at was mean. But being bold to show up differently at school was a different thing. TO buying Cornettos and couldn't eat any, trainings were a daily routine. Miss those days when we stayed back and be drenched in pain, palms all barbequed. TO visiting Kuala Terengganu for a camp . Meeting fun people from Johor was a golden opportunity. Got laughed by a few girls from Kelantan for not knowing how to chop bamboo sticks with a parang. Ow i scream: i am from the city! TO learning side by side with Sekolah Tun Fatimah. This event proves that i have got no phobia of female beings. Girls are always crazy. anyway I wonder how the girls' results are. TO getting a TSwift album, pre-ordered at POPULAR. Listened to songs while jogging. Well, apparently Shake it off was the most effectiv...

Bae Bae

There are words that cannot be said, nor be heard, not be understood. The crows had streaks of rainbow on their wings, simply surpassing the golden phoenix. The red roses in the garden had the moon for accompany, yet the sole tulip beneath the prickers was in a shade of blue. It's like i dont get a hint. They could be off to Singapore, or disappeared when their aunts came here. They would leave at the moment they wanted, didnt care about you. I assumed they had forgotten about the details, because they played me out. They could have excuses, which I wouldnt believe at all. Shame, all shame, a valley of broken dreams, surrounded by steep slope. When did he move into a crystal snow globe? ----they have the smiles that melt icebergs down. Annabelle has a better smile....... They acted like it was the end of everything, but in fact it was just the beginning. Since most polar bears have already migrated into tiny snow globes The archer headshot the wr...
