Interviewing Mr. Navin Sivaganam

Projek Amanat Negara (PAN) is one of the four flagship events by United Kingdom and Eire (Ireland) Council for Malaysian Students (UKEC) which is a conference-based event promoting intellectual discourse and scholarly discussions among students in the UK. I was part of the Curriculum team for the 17th edition of PAN, which took place at Cardiff University in February 2020. Our team started working months prior to the event and I was given the chance to design the topics discussed at the event alongside my teammates.

Themed 'Malaysia and Malaysians, Transcending Boundaries', the event brought everyone's attention to a range of important topics across Malaysia's economic potential among South East Asian countries and Malaysian youths' potential in grabbing available opportunities. Our sessions that day named 'Malaysia Beyond ASEAN', 'A Palm Oil Based Economy: The Harsh Realities Contended' and 'Speak Out, Youth'.

I was extremely privileged and honoured to get to interview Mr. Navin Sivanganam, a consultant at EY UK London Office. Mr. Navin shared with us his perspectives on today's fresh graduates and provided some advice based on his personal experience working in the field of consultancy in the UK. Check out my video here:

I discovered my passion in poetry in high school and I never stopped exploring what I can create. Working With Passion

I've long worked behind the lens. When I started experimenting with photography almost a decade ago, I was heavily criticised for the wrong angles, the misfocused subjects, and my pointless artistry. I tried and tried without proper equipment or professional guidance, but the determination to validate my photography skills had kept me going against the currents of criticism. In the midst of helping others 'capture a moment', as I would call it, I saw myself starting to request for similar photos to be taken for me, in hopes of keeping memories of my own in photographs. One person told me once, 'You're kinda like a model'. That was about 4 years ago, when I had finished high school for a couple of months.
