English Learning

A Thousand Years singer, Christina Perri, shared Christmas joy with her fans as she released a six-track EP, A Very Merry Perri Christmas. I, Euan Thum, ain't a Christian, I don't celebrate Christmas; I ain't an artiste, I don't release albums. But, I do love like to share my mirth of learning English.

  English is an international language, which is pretty essential for us to learn well. Let us look at a simple scenario here: A middle-aged sitting by a table in a palatial office, a secure smirk appears on his rosy face as he receives a cheque with a substantial amount written on it. No doubt and it's evident, he's the boss of a company. For being adroit enough in dealing with his Caucasian business partner, he deserve to have this glorious life. From the certificates and degrees that are nailed on the walls, we all learn that this earnest and sagacious man mastered English at an amazing standard which led him to success.

 
  See, English is just so important. If the man's English standard is such diabolical, or in another word, without mastery of the language, that guy couldn't complete his burden of business with the Caucasian company, and he'll never ever have his poverty relieved.

  As a student of English College and a member of Literally, Drama And Debating Society(LDDS), which is our school's English club, there's no way of me having "broken" English. So, I have to master it in order to achieve a success in the long journey of my future.


  My brother, Sean, bought me a few stacks of books, such as the complete series of The Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga and Harry Potter. Most of them I haven't finish reading yet, but I'm working hard on it. You would've been called a duffer by the others if you don't know Katnis Everdeen, who is also known as the girl on fire, Bella Swan, the "lover of the blood-sucker" and Harry Potter, "the boy who lived". The enthralling tales of these classic characters from the best-selling science fiction novels in America would definitely stop you from dropping the books from your hands since you started reading them.

  Galaxie Magazine Malaysia is another source where I obtain many prowesses of essay-writing and the proper way of using correct and suitable words in the essays. Other than just upgrading my English standard from the magazines, I can also learn about all recent breaking news or any sneak peaks of the people's favourite celebrities. Look at the cover of the latest issue, which I placed at the middle, Taylor Swift looks absolutely fabulous and stunning on it. Don't you think so too?

 
  If this world exists without movies or TV shows, it wold be extremely dull. Movies and TV shows that are in English not only entertain my lonely past time, I've got the chance to snatch some vocabs from the characters' conversation. Songs help me in this way too.
 
  The process of learning English is really a pleasure, it ain't wasting any of your time, but it makes you move a big step forward to your future truimph. And you will never be able to watch its demise and yourself end up in agony. All the best in learning English, guys!

I am Euan Thum. This is my story.

No one is born a leader, but no one is born to stay shy and quiet forever too. I was a timid and unconfident boy who grew to celebrate individuality.  I discovered my passion in poetry in high school and I never stopped exploring what I can create. I co-founded a society in college to share the love for poetry and had organised poetry recitals to help others discover its beauty. Working With Passion

I've long worked behind the lens. When I started experimenting with photography almost a decade ago, I was heavily criticised for the wrong angles, the misfocused subjects, and my pointless artistry. I tried and tried without proper equipment or professional guidance, but the determination to validate my photography skills had kept me going against the currents of criticism. In the midst of helping others 'capture a moment', as I would call it, I saw myself starting to request for similar photos to be taken for me, in hopes of keeping memories of my own in photographs.
